The extension provided significant additional operational space alongside making the overall facility more accessible; through the use of a newly installed platform lift and internal automated access doors.

The extension was traditionally built in a brick and block construction with a single ply flat roof. The M&E systems were upgraded throughout the building including a new fire alarm and access control system. Underfloor heating was installed to the new main visitor areas.

The works were completed in phases and the final sections completed alongside a live business operation. The site itself was challenging with a lack of operating space and storage. The completed works will continue to provide a greatly needed service to its users.
