This design-and-build project for a private developer saw the conversion of a redundant surgery at the junction of two main roads into three new flats, each with parking for six cars.

The works involved:

• Completely stripping out the existing two-storey building.
• Installing new DPCs.
• Reconfiguring the internal layout and creating the new flats and a communal lobby area.

The installation of new steelwork, roof repairs, new heritage-design windows, new aluminium front doors, and the refurbishing of the staircase were also included.

Despite the site’s location near a roundabout and the junction of two main roads, the existing car park proved a strategic asset. It was sufficient for material storage, which was instrumental in meeting the tight programme despite the delays caused by the utilities companies.
